Heneghan & Associates, P.C., Engineers and Surveyors, with offices in Jerseyville, Centralia, and Effingham, Illinois, is pleased to announce that Kari Knapp was selected as the recipient of their second annual Heneghan and Associates Scholarship. On May 29, 2001 Kari was presented with the award and a check for $500.00 at Heneghan & Associates' Jerseyville office. Kari is a May 2001 graduate of North Greene High School in White Hall. Kari was chosen to be the best applicant of high school seniors attending school in Heneghan's three regional service areas. Kari plans to study Civil or Computer Engineering at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
The applicants were required to be enrolled (or in the process of enrolling) in one of the following higher-education programs: engineering, surveying, or mathematics. Evaluation of the applicants was based on a combination of test scores, grades, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.
