During 2001, Heneghan and Associates, P.C., celebrated its 15th year in business. Time has passed quickly. It seemed like only yesterday that Dean P. Heneghan and five other firm members began their involvement of community development, that was followed by business success and growth.

Our History, at a Glance...

The first office opened in Jerseyville in 1986. It began with a staff of six firm members. In 1991, Heneghan and Associates built their current office on Highway Route 16, east of Jerseyville, Illinois. At this location, Heneghan and Associates houses support staff, seven engineers, and two licensed surveyors.
Concurrent in 1991, a new service, "Midwest Environmental" was announced. The Midwest Environmental division provides waste and potable water testing services, facilities management. It is also an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Regional Laboratory.

Our second regional office was opened in Centralia, Illinois in 1993. This office was originally staffed by three firm members. In 1995 the office was moved to the Centralia Terminal building in Centralia. In 2000, Heneghan and Associates bought the Centralia-based surveying firm of "Harold Bright". The Centralia office is now staffed by 13 firm members. We now have four engineers and two licensed surveyors housed at this location. Centralia offers a broad range of engineering and surveying services. Approximately half of our rural water system clients are served out of the Centralia office.

Our third regional office was opened in Effingham, Illinois in 2000. We purchased the firm of "Longwell, Lange and Braasch" as a basis for this office. We have one licensed surveyor and one surveyor-in-training at this location. The staff of three firm members offer engineering and well as surveying service to our clients. In 2000, the Effingham office purchased a robotic total station and is now capable of fielding a one-man survey crew.

The Present, the Future, and a Time to Celebrate!

Heneghan and Associates takes great pride in serving the engineering and surveying needs of its clients. Our engineering firm claims the largest client listing of rural water systems in the state of Illinois. The rural water projects are the largest portion of our work. Our client list now totals 17. Heneghan and Associates initiated seven new systems during its first 15 years. Some of our existing systems are now in their second phase. Some systems are moving forward with even more phases being developed. Heneghan and Associates will continue to develop and expand the work associated with our rural water clients.
Municipal work covers a large portion of our workload. Last year, Heneghan and Associates did various projects for over 30 municipalities.
Recently, during 2000, the Jerseyville and Centralia offices did their first GPS job. The Jerseyville job was a topographic map for a portion of Pere Marquette State Park near Grafton, Illinois, while the Centralia office, during a reclamation project for the Centralia landfill, did their first GPS survey.

We are looking forward to the new millennium. 2001 was an outstanding year for Heneghan and Associates and marked the need to celebrate our 15th anniversary. To highlight this milestone in our corporate history, each office hosted an open house celebration during September, 2001. This celebration, not only intended to be enjoyed by all of the employees, it provided a window of opportunity for all surrounding communities to tour our office locations and a chance to meet our exemplary staff of dedicated professionals.
